Contact supports playing audio files for announcements and greetings required in call flows. Audio can uploaded as .WAV or MP3 format. Alternatively, text-to-speech can be used to generate audio.
Audio files can be used to:
- Set greeting announcements and menus
- Add emergency announcements that are played before the main greeting and caller menu or that override custom announcements
- Set announcements and music for calls that are queued or on hold
- Define a play book of multiple audio files that could be played in sequence or looped at specific points
Upload an Audio File #
- In the menu bar click Call Handling > Audio Files to see a list of uploaded audio
- Click Add
- Enter the Name of the audio file (up to 100 characters)
- The name must be unique within your organisation.
- Enter a brief Description for the audio file (up to 250 characters) if required
- Enable Text-To-Speed or click Upload File
- You can upload audio files as MP3, WAV, MP4 or OGG

- Click Add
- The audio will be created/uploaded
Upload multiple audio files: #
Administrators can upload multiple audio files to the system simultaneously.
- In the menu bar click Call Handling > Audio Files to see a list of uploaded audio
- Click Bulk Upload
- Click Add
- Select the audio files and open them
- Click Upload
- The files will be uploaded
Definitions #
- Name: The name of the audio file.
- Description: A brief description of the audio file.
- Text-To-Speech: Indicates whether or not text-to-speech can be used to generate the audio.
- Language: The language used for generating this audio file: either English, German or Spanish.
- Voice: The type of voice: either Female or Male.
- Pitch: (MaryTTS only.) The degree of highness or lowness of the voice used for the announcement, in relation to “normal” speech. The range is -100% to +100%. A positive value denotes a higher pitch, whereas a negative value denotes a lower pitch.
- Tempo: The speaking rate of the voice used for the announcement, in relation to “normal” speech. The range is -100% to +100%. A positive value denotes a faster rate, whereas a negative value denotes a slower rate.
- Text to convert to audio: The text that you want converted to audio (up to 100 characters).
