Company administrators can define how a payment link can be sent to the customer: via email, SMS, or both. The customer opens the link in their web browser and is presented with the payment page, where they enter the requested card details and authorise the payment.
Note: The cardholder details are strictly between the customer and the payment processing system. The agent cannot view this information. All that the agent knows is how far the payment is progressing and whether or not it is successful. |
Define link delivery settings: #
When you enable link delivery it will display the Email or SMS options as a link delivery option when agents are creating payment forms. If the checkbox is not ticked (disabled), then the option will not be shown as a link delivery option on the agent’s screen. You must enable at least one delivery method: either email or SMS.
- Navigate to Payments in the left-hand panel
- Select PSP Configuration
- Click the Link Delivery tab
Email Delivery:
- Tick the Enable checkbox for email
- Select the Template for the email from the dropdown list
- Select the Email Server from the dropdown list. This is the SMTP server from which the email (including the payment link) is sent to the customer.
- An SMTP email server can be defined at Email > Email Servers.
- Click Add
Note: The template you use for email or SMS should include a payment link that the customer can open in their web browser. If the payment link is missing from the template, a link is automatically added to the start of the email body. To create email or SMS templates check out the Adding a text block article. |
SMS Delivery:
- Tick the Enable checkbox for SMS
- Select the Template for the SMS from the dropdown list
- Select the Type of SMS origination (“From”) address from the dropdown list. One of the following:
- Alphanumeric
- Short code
- Numeric
- For SMS Address, enter the SMS origination address. The values are as follows:
- Alphanumeric – Up to 11 characters, for example, Yak123. The address can only consist of letters (a-z and A-Z) and digits (0-9). Punctuation is not allowed.
- Short code – Between 3 and 8 digits, for example, 34001. The address can only consist of digits (0-9).
- Numeric – Up to 100 digits. The number can start with optional + and national escape digits. Whitespace, hyphens, () and [] are also allowed.
- Click Add
Note: If an agent uses SMS to send a payment link, they will be charged for it at their normal SMS rate. |
