SMS messages can be automated and sent to callers when they reach a particular stage of a call flow by using the templated response node. When the node is activated it will automatically trigger pre-made SMS messages to be sent to callers.
Note: Before you can add the node to your call flow, you must ensure that SMS templates have already been created. Find out more about SMS templates. |

Configure automated SMS #
- Navigate to Call Handling → Call Flows
- Select the relevant inbound call flow
- Click the call flow edit button
- Make the templated response node available:
- Select the Node Library button
- Ensure the Templated Response node is checked
- Click Ok
- Drag the node from the collection and place it in the call flow
- Connect the node as required
- Configure the node parameters
- Enter a node name
- Select an SMS template
- Set the Sender CLI
- If this parameter is not specified and the node is being used in a call flow, the SMS will be sent from the number/address that was called to set up the flow.
- Select the validate and publish button
- Click Publish
- The call flow will be updated and configured for automated SMS responses
