This procedure describes how to add optional branches to nodes in your routing flow and how to rename branches. Most nodes have at least one mandatory branch. Optional branches can be added to some decision-making nodes. An optional branch can be deleted but a mandatory one cannot. Every branch has a default name, which, like a node name, can be replaced by a name that is more meaningful to your routing flow.
Procedure #
- To add an optional branch to a node, right-click the node name in the routing flow and select the Add <“Branch Name”> Branch.
- To configure the parameters for a branch, left-click the branch name in the node in the routing flow. The Parameters pane for this branch is displayed on the left side, where you can assign values as appropriate.
- To edit a branch name to suit your routing flow design, click the branch to display the Parameters pane for the branch. Enter a new name in the Branch Name field.
Note: Renaming a branch does not in any way affect how the branch functions—it is purely for your information. A mandatory branch is always a mandatory branch and an optional branch is always an optional branch.
Note: If you add a branch that you did not mean to add, remove it by right-clicking on the branch and selecting Delete Branch.
