Media files can be uploaded to the system and then used in themes that define the display of the Contact web interface for a particular organisation. Administrators can add (upload) new media files, edit or delete existing files, or download them.
Note: Only image file types (such as .png, .jpg, .gif, .jpeg) can be uploaded. If the file type is not valid, an error message is displayed.
Note: Themes customisation is a licensable feature of the system.
Administrators must have the Themes: Modify privilege to manage media files.
Add a media file #
- Click System > Media Files on the menu bar.
A list of the media files that are already uploaded is displayed. - Click Add. The Add Media File page is displayed.
- (Mandatory.) Enter the name of the new media file (up to 100 characters). Any unicode characters are allowed, including whitespace and accented letters.
- Enter a brief Description for the media file (up to 250 characters). Any unicode characters are allowed, including whitespace and accented letters.
- Click Upload Media File then navigate to the file and open it.
An image of the file is displayed on the Add Media File page, along with other file details. - Click Add.
Delete, edit or download an media file #
- To delete a media file, select the appropriate a media file in the list and click Delete then confirm that you want to delete the media file.
- To edit the details for a media file, select the appropriate media file in the list, reconfigure the parameters as required then click Save Changes.
- To download a media file, select the appropriate media file in the list then click Download Media File.
Definitions #
- Name: The name of the media file.
- Description: A brief description of the media file.
- File: An image of the file, along with other file details:
- The name of the image file, for example, login_logo_white.png
- The type of image file and the file extension
- The file size, in bytes
- The height and width of the file image, in pixels.
