This procedure describes how to configure the parameters for a node and its branches.A node or branch in a routing flow may have parameters that you can configure to define exactly how your service behaves. A parameter provides a node with the data it needs to complete its function or allows a node to return information that may be used elsewhere in the routing flow. Some parameters apply to an entire node whereas other parameters apply to a branch within the node. Some nodes and branches do not need to be configured at all.
Some of the node parameters that you set up here are “user-configurable”. This means that, even though you specify a value for the parameter here, a company administrator with the Service Numbers: Modify privilege can change the value for that parameter to suit their own requirements through the Administrator Portal. For example, they may want to change an audio file that is played to callers. For more information, see Adding user-configurable values.
Procedure #
Step 1:
Do one of the following:
a. To configure the parameters for a node, click the node name in the routing flow. The Parameters pane for this node is displayed on the left side.
b. To configure the parameters for a branch, click the branch name in the node in the routing flow. The Parameters pane for this branch is displayed on the left side.
Step 2:
Assign values as appropriate.
Step 3:
Configure the remaining nodes and branches in your routing flow using the method described above.
Note: Nodes that are placed in a routing flow but are not fully configured display the following icon next to the appropriate node name or branch name:
This enables you to easily identify nodes for which parameters must be entered or branches must be configured to complete the routing flow.
