Outbound SMS
This release includes a new SMS feature. This allows companies to send outbound SMS messages to customers as part of an interaction flow, which could be used to divert calls from agents. This also allows agents to send an SMS when they are speaking to a customer. This could be used for example to send confirmation of a booking when they are on the phone.
To enable this feature resellers will have to accept the terms and conditions on the Gamma portal – this will automatically be enabled for new companies. SMS messages are billed at the current rate as set on the pricelist on the Gamma portal. Full details of this feature are available in the latest Service Description.
Three new reports have been created to support the SMS feature – these can be found under the new section – Outbound SMS Data Reports
- Recipient Report – a list of the recipients’ that messages have been sent to, including the template name used and the date, time and agent that sent the message
- SMS Agent Report – the total number of messages sent per agent and the number of SMS segments used (each segment is billed as one message)
